Thinking back (to March) . . . Part I

So this is a little late in coming, but it was a super important day and I want to make sure and share it with family (who wasn't there) and friends! Better late than never, right?

David, my baby brother, got married on March 7th in none other than Puerto Vallarta! He and his awesome wife Stacy got engaged in February of 2007 and just a year later brought their family and friends to PV for a super-great week of parties and fun! But rather than blab about it, I’ll give you the lowdown in the following picture story! (Of course if you want more details on the night life, you have to ask them directly! The 7-month prego girl stayed home and went to bed early!)

THE WELCOME PARTY
Dave and Stacy kicked off the week by greeting their guests on the beach at a “spicy” welcome party that mom and dad hosted at Villa Premiere Resort.

The area was decorated with lots of red and orange woven ribbon (a hint of the wedding colors to come!), white roses and colorful chile peppers!

Family and friends gathered on the beach for tasty appetizers, yummy tropical drinks and lots of hugs as people got together for the first time!

It's Summer!

Summer has arrived to PV and it is STIFLING hot! The humidity makes life just a little less pleasant... we never seem to dry off - sweaty sweaty sweaty... gross! BUT summer brings a much-needed break for our family! We're almost done with this season's weddings and are definitely ready for a vacation - no matter how hot!

We had a really beautiful wedding this past weekend - I loved the sunset colors and lots of fun little details!

Just one more wedding coming up on July 12th and we'll be done (with the exception of planning) until October! Then another round of crazy brides begins! Fun fun!

Sophia is now 8 weeks old and definitely making us work! Things were going quite smoothly until about 2 weeks ago when Soph all of a sudden started waking up screaming time after time after time throughout the night! Our peaceful nights were over!!! Since then, we've been getting up anywhere from 5 - 8 times per night! At this point, we're not really even sure how many times it is a night as they all seem to run together - we're hoping this is a stage, and one that ends soon! Other than that, she is an absolute doll!

I had a photographer friend come in on Pablo's first Father's Day and surprised him with a photo session with Sophie. The pictures are really fun!

Besides working to finish up the wedding season, we're working super hard to get our house finished this summer! Things pretty much had to be put on hold once we moved in last December as work got so crazy and stayed that way until just recently. I'm realllly excited to get things finished - we've been living in a half-done house for way too long! Our kitchen tile got delivered today and we finally ordered all our kitchen cupboards, so we may actually have a finished kitchen soon! It's about time!!!

Pablo, Sophie and I are going on a little vacation in a couple weeks... we weren't quite ready to travel far with Soph (and weren't sure it would really be relaxing!), so we booked 5 nights at a great all-inclusive in Nuevo Vallarta - 15 minutes north of our house for those of you who don't know! We chose a hotel where we don't know anyone and plan to escape! The travel time should be easy enough - haha! Leave home at 2:45 and check in to our hotel room at 3pm! Sounds silly but we are SO EXCITED!

I guess that's all for today! We're really excited for our friends - Jill, who is pregnant again and finding out boy or girl at the end of the month (I hope Cammers gets a little brother!), and Rachel, who is adopting from Russia! Sophie already has international friends!

Grandma and Grandpa Crawford In the House

The Crawford grandparents dropped in for a brief visit this week - arriving on Monday and leaving this coming Sunday - for some quick but quality time with Sophie! She's gotten lots of love this week in extra doses! Here's a few pictures from her time with grandma and grandpa!

Sophia's Days

Sophia came to work on Friday. Check out what a great employee she is!

Wedding Without Kristin

Yep - it happened. I was determined not to miss a wedding EVER but last Saturday I had more important things to do! Sophia and I stayed home together and hung out (well, she slept and ate, I ate and did laundry and cleaned bottles and changed diapers and planned more weddings.) Pablo and Michelle (and the rest of our wedding team) were rock stars and attended to a bunch of crazy rich people at what turned out to be a super successful wedding! Thank goodness for rock star husbands and cousins!

First Pediatrician Appointment

Sophia turned 8 days today and had her first appointment with the doctor! She has been eating well and is now weighing in at 7 1/2 lbs! She got her first two vaccine shots and only cried for about 30 seconds... however, Kristin and Pablo wanted to cry longer! Ugh! It's not fun to watch your baby get pricked! Other than that, she has been a trooper - still sleeping very well at night (and during the day), now keeping her eyes open for about 2 hours a day in one hour spurts - enough time to read and play together (we can basically beat her at any game we play right now because she wimps out and falls asleep halfway through!)

Basically, Sophia is a sweet pea!
(Thank you Rachel Thiele for my adorable sweet pea onesie! - Love, Sophia)
