Holy Smokes! Time has flown, and the blog has fallen by the wayside the last few weeks – not because nothing is happening, but because too much has been keeping us busy! Catching up will definitely need to happen in a series of posts – impossible to share all the news in just one (especially as I’m writing this at 10:30pm and already tired!) but here’s a quick start!
The Dazzling Details staff is back in the office in full swing and getting ready for our 2008-2009 wedding season! We kick off this fall with four October weddings and really don’t have a break until Christmas time! We’re excited that despite the sketchy and a-bit-scary US economy, we have a full wedding season!
After a summer full of brainstorming and design, drafts and modifications, our new The Dazzling Details website is up and running! We’re really happy with it! Check it out, and we’d be happy to hear any feedback you may have!
And on to the really important news!!!
Sophia has grown like crazy in the last month – she now weighs a whopping (Get ready for this!!!) – 18 pounds!!! Her legs and cheeks are so chunky and adorable, I cannot help but squeeze them every time she gets close (which is often . . . so there is LOTS of squeezing going on!)
We had our first bout of the flu with her a few weeks ago, and she was placed on antibiotics, nasal spray and Tempra – yikes! So much to keep track of! But she recovered quickly and is back to her happy healthy self!
Soph hosted her first pool party a couple weeks ago and invited only Michelle and Mom. It was a hot, sticky day and the pool helped cool Soph off! Unfortunately, there was not enough space for Michelle OR Mom in the pool, so Sophia swam ‘solo’ at this party!
She also graduated from laying-in-the-crib-watching-mobile to bouncing-endlessely-in-the-exersaucer! After much trial and tribulation, our exersaucer finally arrived after having travelled across a good portion of the US and then Mexico to arrive to our house on the little gravel street in PV! Soph anxiously awaited as Pablo (who can pretty much assemble anything in under a minute) struggled with 30 little Fisher Price pieces until they fit together and made his spoiled baby girl super happy!
For those of you who want more, there is a new video of Sophia and her exersaucer in action – check out the top left corner of the blog!
The last time I wrote on the blog, we had just gotten Sophia’s picture taken in an antique photo session! We were told we had to wait nearly a month to receive the photos, and it seemed like forever! But we’ve finally got them in hand, and boy!, were they worth the wait! Here are a few peaks at “Antique Sophia!” (Click on the photos to see the larger version – they are just too cute to not see in “Grande Size!”)
Sophia’s passport arrived on September 19th (Woo hoo!), and we took advantage of our final couple weeks prior to wedding season to visit family in the United States!
Hopefully this is the last time we need to leave Pablo behind as we’ll be trying again for a visa in November (please say extra prayers for us!)
We arrived this past Friday and spent the weekend with David, Dan, Stacy and Tiffany (and grandma and grandpa!) in Milwaukee and then headed up north to Minocqua to make the family rounds! We’re having a great time and have been super busy, but we’re taking lots of pictures and will post next week once we are back and settled in good-ole-piping-hot-Mexico! Until then, here’s a quick peek at Sophia all bundled up for the first time in warm winter clothes! It hasn’t been less than 80 degrees in PV since she’s been born, so the cold rainy days up north have been quite a surprise to her! But she is one adorable bundled baby!

Finally!! I was having Sophia withdrawal.
Rachel
She is about the cutest girl I know! I especially love her leg rolls. I know a little boy who she would make a great roly poly match with :)
