The Countdown to Halloween

So Halloween has been a bit anticlimatic for us the last, um . . . seven years that I've lived in Mexico. Most likely because it is nonexistent with the exception of a poor little Mexican-American child or two who has the unfortunate luck of living in Mexico and trying to celebrate Halloween! They run around in costumes and trick or treat at houses oh-so-very-unprepared for trick or treaters! No porch lights lit, no candy baskets and for sure no scary people excited to open the front door and scare the wits out of the little innocent trick or treaters!

Despite being half Mexigirl, I can't cheat my baby out of her first Halloween! And while there will be no trick or treating or candy (definitely no candy!), there WILL be costumes! And this year, we will be presenting you with the Sophia's Mexican Halloween Parade of Costumes! She has not one, but three little outfits that she'll be donning over the next few days to show off her American Halloween Roots! Today, we started off with the ballerina outfit - pretty in pink and complete with a tutu!

Tomorrow she won't be so sweet and nice - she'll be showing a bit of the dark Sophia; we've saved the scariest and spookiest outfit for Halloween itself! So be sure to check back!
