Baby Sophia is almost here!!! We are so excited and on the edge of our seats to meet her. She has given us quite the experience the last few weeks as she decided to show her femininity early on - wearing her umbilical cord around her neck as a necklace, then over the shoulder like a purse and now back around her neck - already playing dress up! Unfortunately, the cord around the neck is preventing her from dropping safely without decreasing her heartrate, so we have known for a couple weeks that she will come to us via c-section, and we are just playing the waiting game - hoping her lungs develop enough to pull her out before any strong contractions begin and cause her heartrate to drop. We're almost there though! Kristin got 3 shots in her butt yesterday to help boost lung development, and we're hoping to see some progress by our appointment on Thursday of this week! Sophia currently weighs somewhere between 6.5 and 6.8 pounds. Seems to have chunky legs (wonder where those come from) and a cute little button nose - we REALLY can't figure out where that comes from! But I guess we'll see her in person soon enough. The images of her on the 4D ultrasound are so squashy that we prefer to just meet her in real life!
We're anxious to get her here with us and even more anxious about how we're going to handle the first month with her as we also have six Dazzling Details weddings in the next six weeks too! We'll be off to a busy start!
But the countdown is on and we anticipate meeting our daughter within the next week!

Dear New Family,
How wonderful it was to read your Blog and see the pics of your family. Sophia is so beautiful. Can hardly believe that the little girl I once knew is now a mom herself. You have to be on cloud 9:) I spoke with your mom on the phone and she and your dad are so proud of you. We have a small gift for Sophia(love the name) and your mom said it would be better to send it to her and she will give it to you if you come to the States this summer or they may come by you. If we get to Mexico we would love to to see all of you. We will let you know far enough in advance to make plans. We are so happy for you and Pablo. What a lovely family you are.
We miss you and wish you all the best that God can give.
Love and hugs from the Franken Family
hey Kristin.
Just wanted to say congratulations to you and your husband. What a sweet baby girl
Seems like yesterday I saw you running around your Mom and Dad`s house as a little tyke. If I remember right my daughter Cheryl or Deborah babysat for you a couple of times. WOW, I am getting old.
Enjoy the new little one every moment.
I`m sure your Mom and Dad are popping their buttons over their granddaughter.
May God bless you all.
