Have I ever posted this photo? It is one of my faves from our trip to San Francisco earlier this year. I realize it has nothing to do with anything relevant right now, but I was busy at work looking for certain wedding photos in order to prepare for a meeting, and this sweet little innocent-looking-but-definitely-not-innocent face just kept staring up at me from the thumbnail, so I decided to share it with you!

It's Official
I think I'm officially a mom. I mean, I know I am, have been for a whopping 18 months. (The ongoing sleepless nights are definitely my proof of that.) But today I realized that I had taken an emotional leap. My refrigerator is full of colorful scribbles held up by animal magnets. The art is crooked, and the animal heads have been lost (or thrown over the side of the balcony) so I now mostly have the rear-ends of animals in view. And I don't mind. I think that is a sign that I've passed to the other side of mom-hood. My interpretation of that simply means that I've given up trying to preserve any morsel of sanity, personal space and order that once may have existed in my home. Aaah. The joys of motherhood.

The Buzz Around Town
October 30th wore us out with a fabulous wedding (if I do say so myself), but not nearly enough to keep us from getting Sophia all dressed up for a night of Trick-or-Treating on the town!
Michelle and I finished up Soph's costume earlier in the week, and we were just crossing our fingers that she wouldn't notice she was wearing one at all! Sophia doesn't like anything odd touching her - we can't cover her with a blanket, she refuses to wear socks and any wierd, pokey, not-natural clothing item can just take a hike! So the idea of putting her in wings, head boppers and a stinger would have sent her over the edge! Luckily, knowing my daughter, we made sure we were prepared from the start and sewed really simple small wings on the back of her onesie, prepared a velcro-on stinger that could be stuck to her booty when she was distracted and the boppers (Um, I call them boppers, but they were antennas), went on to pipe cleaners and stuck into her normal pigtail holders!
We were all set with our basket of candy to give (after all, you gotta give back!) and off we went to meet a few friends and their tykes on the Malecon. A few photos from the night!
